Sealing Solution

A solution to sealing your 351C intake after the block and heads have both been shaved.

Some years ago I took my 351C 4 bolt block to have it done. It was cleaned, bored and then honed before the one bad hole was found, I had no problem sleeving it, id had it done before with no trouble, but appaerntlyapparently the dude didntdidn't drill it deep enough because he called and asked permission to deck the block. he said that since the sleeve was above the deck that he had to deck it and because of that he couldntcouldn't deck it without doing both sides. Good thing was that I didntdidn't have to pay for it to be decked because it was his mastake, mistake, The bad thing is that this block had been decked before. Same deal with the heads, they were cracked so I took them to Garvies head service in Indy and had em furnace welded but then he had to deck the heads and they had been done before as well. made for a real missmatchmismatch on the intake as it left one hell of a gap at both ends with a gasket on it and even the ports were very badly lined up. I solved this by using Hylomar gasket sealer on the sides and rtv on the ends. This works fine because the 351C dont pass water through the intake to the heads. Worked out fine tho.The ports were lined up perfectly and ran great with no leaks. Still tho it was .030 dished pistons and OC 4V heads. and It was awsomeawesome on the bottom end.....bob
