Jeff931 Cleveland Cylinder Heads-CHI/AFD/TrickFlow/Edelbrock 3 Sep 29 2009, 12:19 PM EDT by Jeff931
Thread started: Sep 28 2009, 1:46 PM EDT  Watch
Ok, I need to ditch my iron "Aussie" heads-too much compression for pump gas-so its time to get out the wallet again.
I like the CHI heads, they look to be nicely machined right out of the box and they kicked ass at the Engine Masters Challenge; has anyone got any real hands-on experience with any of these heads?
I'm going to use them on my 393 stroker in my Ranchero.

ericr_27030 I have a 351c with 351 modified heads ? Help! 0 Apr 7 2009, 7:59 PM EDT by ericr_27030

I have a 351c and someone has put 351 modified heads on it with a two barrel intake . On the heads were people say to look for the 2 or 4 on a cleveland head it has a M. Is this a common practice? Are these heads worth keeping? Can someone help I.D. them for me? And can I run a good 4 barrel intake with them?
Thanks,
Eric

jxhowell 351C 2V build 0 Mar 28 2009, 9:56 AM EDT by jxhowell

I'm planning on building a 351C 2V primarily for street performance so I prefer an engine with more low end torque instead of something I'll have to wind to 8000 RPM. This is what I'm considering:

block bored .030" with forged flat-top pistons
pocket porting the heads with a 3 angle valve job
9.5-10:1 compression ratio
Edelbrock Performer intake
780 cfm Holley carb
Comp Cams 270H hydraulic cam (270 degrees duration, .519" lift, IC 106.0)
1 3/4" primary headers with Flowmaster mufflers and electronic exhaust cutouts

The engine is going into a 1970 Mustang with a beefed up T-5 transmission. The car weighs approximately 3300 lbs...3500 with driver. I really don't have a clue so any advice would be helpful.
