GT 350 PROTOTYPE 1 of 3 "RARE'351 CLEVELAND Experimental
This is a RARE; possibly a one of a kind, GT350 PROTOTYPE EXPERIMENTAL SHELBY!!!
the prototype was the only SHELBY that came with a 351 CLEVELAND MOTOR. all others have Windsor motors!
This SHELBY also came from the FACTORY with a COUGAR DASH! It is a #'s MATCHING complete car.
It was restored to original condition in the 90's and has been garage kept since. this car has been displayed by INVITATION ONLY at the ALL FORD NATIONALS with an article in the magazine.
awards were issued at that time.
the same year it was at the SHELBY NATIONALS in Ontario California, and won an award.
CARROL SHELBY was there and signed the ALL FORD PLAQUE at that time! HE Said; THAT'S THE ONE FRED GOODELL HAD!!
Fred Goodell was in charge of several SHELBY projects and THIS WAS ONE! this1969 car was used to DEVELOP the 351 CLEVELAND MOTOR,(later to come out in 1970) and that motor is still in the car!!
it was also used to DEVELOP a FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM for future fords. the injection system was removed by ford before it left the factory and was installed with a spread bore four barrel that is on it now.
It came with factory A/C,P/S,P/Disc Brakes,Tilt Wheel, Automatic, This a nice driving car and WINS AWARDS at every show that it has been at!!
I have NEVER HEARD anyone say, my friend has one like this!! ONLY "WOW" what a car!!
This car has been transported Enclosed to events of any distance, but driven to local ones in comfort and trouble free. I have been told that there may be another one out there somewhere, but I have not been able to locate it,if it is true!
I would like to meet or talk to any one who has another one of these PROTOTYPE 350's (please Email me. JMYCOBRA66@aol.com) as I have also been told that the other two were Destroyed!! (most experimental cars were CRUSHED because of liability if sold to the public) "THIS ONE SURVIVED"
I will post several pictures BUT: if you have more questions,PLEASE ASK. Half the fun of having these cars are meeting & talking to people!! I have had this car for years and have several other SHELBY'S, but now I am at the age to slow down, and reduce my collection.
If this one is out of your budget, let me know, I have others. I may part with. ( a 69 GT500 GRABBER BLUE 4 SD low mileage car, fresh out of restoration,NO Expenses spared!) also., you may notice in the pictures that one of the plaques say 1of4, but later after the plaque was printed, it was verified by the SHELBY REGISTRY that there were only 3 produced.
The article of the registry will be posted and it is on page #1197. ALSO please note that the cars exterior color is PASTEL GRAY( NOT white as eBay only list white)
